Review: Etude House Lip & Eye Remover
Ok, it's about time I tell you my thoughts on my favorite lip and eye makeup remover! Favorite, as in I'm halfway through my 3rd bottle of this already. Hihi ;P
It's the Etude House Lip & Eye (Makeup) Remover! (Ok, I sound too excited, I know :P)
Description: Gentle, yet highly effective, this double formulated lip and eye remover easily and instantly dissolves all traces of make-up for a soothing and moisturizing effect on the sensitive eye and lip area without any irritation.
Directions for use: Shake well before each use. Apply in eye and lip area using soft cotton or tissue.
The label on the bottle says it's a 'lip & eye remover.' Hahaha scary.
Owkay! Let's start with the packaging. I like that the shape of the bottle makes it easy to carry around in my makeup bag. It has a twist-type cap, and the product itself can be dispensed easily from the bottle. Nothing really special nor bad about the packaging for me.
This makeup remover has two distinct layers so you need to shake the product first to mix the two layers together. I use a cotton pad and this amount of product (usually) to remove my eye makeup.
I press the cotton pad gently on my lid and let the makeup dissolve for several seconds before swiping the pad across the lid.

Using one cotton pad only |
I find this product really effective in removing my eyeshadow. When I'm wearing a really long-lasting eyeliner and/or mascara, I may need to swipe the cotton pad a few more times, but there's still no need for me to rub hardly.
I sometimes also use this to spot-clean my makeup brushes. I use just about a couple of drops on a cotton pad.
Another thing that I like about this is that it doesn't irritate my eyes. This doesn't sting my eyes nor make them watery. It does leave my lids a bit oily after application, though. That, I don't mind very much... I always wash my face after removing my makeup, anyway.
It also effectively removes my lipstick.
It leaves no weird taste, too, which is a plus.
Thumbs up:
- Effective in removing my eyeshadow, eyeliner and lipstick
- Doesn't irritate my eyes in any way
- No unpleasant scent/taste
- Affordable - Priced at P198 for 100ml of product
Thumbs down:
- Leaves my eye area oily so I need to wash my face after using this (which is really not a big deal for me)
- Sometimes can't remove my mascara completely
I really like this makeup remover. Been using this for over a year now - that's how loyal I am to this product. Haha. I think this is similar to the Maybelline eye makeup remover but I'm not sure which one is cheaper or better 'coz I haven't tried the latter yet. I believe EH has a legit mascara remover, too. I've yet to try that one :)
Have you tried this? What do you use to remove your makeup? :)
i've never tried their make up remover :/. the cleansing oil i use for my entire face removes even my eye make up :)

ReplyDeleteI hope you like it, Chrissy! I've heard some people say that they are almost the same. Hihi :)
ReplyDeleteI'm using this too :) So far, it takes away all the hints of makeup in my face, but it gets very difficult when I use it to remove my mascara.
